The
movement is growing, as is the awareness about GOONJ. The
media has started paying attention to our work and the development
sector is slowly waking up to recognize clothing as a matter
of concern. The inflow of material has grown many folds while
the demand is still more, coming even from unheard of remote
places. All good things… but now comes the question
of expansion, scaling up and more importantly using our full
potential and optimally exploiting the systems we have developed
over the years.
We
have already replicated our work in Mumbai & Chennai.
While aiming to add more metros/mini metros to our network,
the idea is to develop regional hubs across the country independently
supporting rural/slum areas in their neighborhood.
In
view of all this, we find it to be the toughest phase for
GOONJ. From the beginning we have never asked for money, instead
we developed this as a people’s movement and that’s
the way we want to keep growing.
THIS
is a direct appeal for your commitment for resources; in whatever
manner it suits you -financial, infrastructure, sponsorships,
vehicle, monthly commitment, yearly commitment.
We
are thus looking for 600 individuals who make a small commitment
to GOONJ.. and motivate some organizations & residential
societies to form a strong support base. (We call it TEAM
600). Do get in touch with us to know more about this.
I
think its important that everyone associated with GOONJ
understands that anything underutilized just because of
lack of bare minimum resources is certainly hurting and
this is becoming the case here…
Please

wishers. Even if all of us just take the responsibility
of involving 10 people around us, I’m sure we can
achieve this…
